Ultima IV : Quest of the Avatar

The ZIP file should contain the following files:
README.TXT This file of text and notes.
STSWAP.BAT A Batch File to install or remove the patch.
PARTY.OLD	The new file with the initial Ultima IV party.

The files should be unzipped into the Ultima IV directory.

The STSWAP.BAT file uses dos commands to rename the PARTY.NEW file in
the Ultima IV directory. It then replaces it with the PARTY.OLD file
from the Zip. It finally renames the original PARTY.NEW to PARTY.OLD
so the original game configuration can be restored by using the STSWAP.BAT
again.

The new party has all characters who join given maximum Health, Abilities,
and Experience. They are also equipped with Mystic Armour and Magic Wands.
The wouldbe Avatar starts with the same equipment and Experience as the
other party members. However, Because the ability scores are set during the
Character Creation process, they are only at the original values. This means
that the only way to increase the ability scores during the game is to touch
the Glowing Orbs in the Dungeons.
The Equipment of the party as a whole has also been increased, although no
quests (except for the Mystic Armour and Weapons) have been solved.
There are quantities of all magic Reagents, and all magic Spells. While the
Z-tats display does not show them due to lack of space, there are both Y-Up
and Z-Down spells mixed.
The Gold of the party has been increased to 9999, but the food appears to
use a different system - the amount given was the highest I could manage
without giving so much the screen display was disrupted.

My adjusted file does not appear to cause any bugs anywhere in the game.
It does not affect a game already in process - I just wanted to see if I
could make the changes I wanted. However, use it at your own risk.

I know this isn't up to the editors and cheat programs I have seen on the
Net, but I don't think it is too bad for a complete amateur.
